Pleasant Grove City Library is pleased to announce that three Utah State Parks passes are now available for checkout. These passes have been made possible by the Utah Department of Natural Resources in conjunction with their Reach Out and Connect Kids In Nature program (Rockin Utah). The goal is to provide opportunities for and encourage children and families to explore the natural world.

Checking out a pass will allow you and up to seven guests in the same private vehicle day-use entrance to all Utah State Parks (excluding This Is The Place Heritage Park and the Davis County Causeway fee at Antelope Island; this pass is accepted at Utah State Parks only and cannot be used at National Parks such as Zion, Bryce, or Arches). For more information and a list of state parks you can visit and discover, click here to go to the Utah State Parks website.
Throughout 2009 a pass will also give you $2 off camping fees, 7 days a week, excluding holidays and holiday weekends. This discount will be honored through the reservation call center and at state park campgrounds on a first-come, first-served basis (not available on the online reservation system). Discount applies to one campsite per night.
To maximize the opportunity to use these passes, PGCL has decided to create a reservation process for their use. This process will allow people to plan a trip and have a pass available at the time they want to use it.
If you are interested in using a State Parks pass, please fill out the request form linked at the bottom of this page. You must read the rules and policies before making a request.
Click here to check a calendar for park pass availability. Days with the word "reserved" mean the passes are not available. (This calendar is also displayed on the reservation form.)
Rules and checkout Policies:
- Checkout of a pass is limited to 1 week.
- These passes are available only to Pleasant Grove City Library card holders. NUCLC patrons do not qualify.
- Checkout of a pass is limited to 3 times per household.
- You can make a request for a reservation using the online form or by calling or coming to the library.
- Once you make a request, you will be contacted within 3 days. Availability is based on a first-come, first-served policy, and submission of the request form does not guarantee your reservation of the pass. If the dates requested are still available, you will receive a confirmation number.
- Within 3 days of receiving the confirmation number, you must come to the library to sign an agreement form and pay a refundable booking fee of $10. (Please note library hours: Mon. - Thurs. 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Fri. - Sat. 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.) The signed form and the $10 will hold your reservation. If the booking fee is not paid within 3 days, your request will be cancelled. If you have paid your booking fee but need to cancel your reservation for whatever reason, your booking fee will be returned if you cancel within 3 days.
- To pick up a pass, come to the library on the day you specified as the pickup date and check it out with your library card. Your $10 booking fee will be refunded to you at this time. (It is possible to request use of the pass such that your pickup date bypasses the reservation fee; for example, you request the pass for the next day and it is available.)
- Your PCGL card used to reserve the pass must be presented at the time of checkout.
- Only an adult can sign the agreement form and check out a pass.
- You must return the pass on time. If you do not, you will be charged $70 a day in overdue fees. There are no exceptions. It is important that the pass be returned on time to accommodate the next person waiting for it.
- If the pass is lost, a $140 fee will be charged for its replacement.
