Everyone is welcome to join in the book discussion! Bookenders will meet on the main floor of the library on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 7:30 p.m.

Great Reads: Thursday, September 27th at 7 pm.

“Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone”

What did Harry Potter know about magic? He was stuck living with the decidedly un-magical Dursleys, who hated him. He slept in a closet and ate their leftovers. But an owl messenger changes all that, with an invitation to attend the Hogwarts School for Wizards and Witches, where it turns out Harry is already famous...

 

Girls ages 8 to 14 are invited to come with their mothers (or other caring adult) for an evening of refreshments, fun activities and lively discussions. Pick up a copy of the current book at the front desk. Great Reads for Girls meets in the program room on the main level of the library.

A galvanizing narrative of the wartime role played by U.S. Army nurses - from the invasion of North Africa to the bloody Italian campaign to the decisive battles in France and the Rhineland. More than 59,000 nurses volunteered to serve in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps alone: 217 lost their lives (16 by enemy action) , and more than 1,600 were decorated for meritorious service and bravery under fire. A read, and discuss book group for adults. Everyone is welcome to join in the book discussion!
